Things To Do Around The Area

Next door you will find the US Navy’s only coastal resort and conference center! Play a game of bowling, get a bite to eat at The Windjammer restaurant, sip a luscious beverage in their full service lounge or purchase a memorable trinket from the gift shop.  Don’t forget to take the morning stroll to their coffee shop located in the gift shop!  They proudly serve Tully’s Coffee and it’s simply divine!  Thanks to its military roots, everything is tax-free!  All services are open to the public with the exception of their lodging, but you don’t need that anyway since you’re staying in the most luxurious place on the north beach

Pacific Beach Resort
Enjoy miles and miles of pristine beach beauty located only 1 minute by car from Joey’s Beach House and only a 5 minute walk through the beach approach.  Dig for clams, walk along the surf and take your furry friends for a stroll.  It’s the perfect off leash area!  It’s Joey’s favorite thing to do!
Beach Combing
Antiquing is prevalent in various parts of the coast, but mostly in Ocean Shores (located 15 miles south).  Westport (another 30 miles south of Ocean Shores) also has shops and a great museum that caters to those who enjoy picking up a piece of history.
Antiquing
Ocean Shores is a fantastic place for bird watching and the Audubon Society has written books about the birds in this area. Damon Point State Park (also known as Protection Island) is very popular and is one of the only known nesting sites for the Snowy Plover.   There are over 300 different species of birds including brown pelicans, peregrine falcons, herons, quail and pheasant.

Washington State Bird
•    Official Washington State Bird Name: Willow Goldfinch
•    Common Name: American Goldfinch

Bird Watching
With the hills, valley’s, mountains and beach fronts, hiking and biking in this area is simply a haven!  One of the most popular destinations is Olympic National Park (35 miles north of Pacific Beach).  You will find some of the most beautiful territory on Earth and only 30 minutes from Joey’s Beach House!

Bicycle & Hiking Adventures
They say the times they are a changing!  Well, that is so right!  Located only one mile south of Joey’s Beach House is a place being built like no other!  Not just houses but literally, an ENTIRE town!  Restaurants, shops, community center, chapel, market and amphitheatre are all coming here over the next 5 years!  The end result will be an authentic beach village reminiscent of the finest Northwest coastal communities, embodying timeless architectural traditions and celebrating the spectacular natural environment of beach, forest, and wetlands.

Seabrook
Mornings...well...they usually don’t start too early.  Choosing instead to lounge a little longer in the sumptuous bed and enjoy the surroundings of the beautifully appointed bedroom.

When you’re ready, get up and enjoy a fresh brewed cup of premium coffee and a belgian waffle for breakfast before heading into the shower. Enjoy a hot shower and try out the Environmentally Sensitive Amenities.  The Almond Body Lotion and Honey Shampoo is truly divine!

Then, stroll down to the beach and enjoy one of Washington’s most beautiful beaches. After a day of beach-combing make your way back to the house and relax a little, indulge in a weekend afternoon nap or grab a good book.

Once the afternoon starts to fade and evening moves in, it’s time to start thinking about dinner. Whip something up in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen or head over to the Ocean Crest restaurant for a truly memorable dinner.

Dinner is done, the sun is starting to set as you settle in for the evening. Relax out on the deck with a glass of wine and enjoy the incredible ocean-front view and a truly unforgettable sunset.

Top off the evening with a relaxing soak in the hydro-therapeutic hot tub.
